What does it cost to build reparations infrastructure from scratch, under maximum resistance? To Ambassadors of the 123 Nations, Members of the Congressional Black Caucus, Reparations Activists Worldwide, and Friends of the Global Reparations DAO:
I want to tell you the truth about where this work came from — and where it's going.
My family has already lost parents under circumstances that remain unresolved. My children and family are my most precious concern. My family home — where these losses happened and where this organizing was built — is now at the center of active litigation.
Court records document serious irregularities: a Sheriff's Sale conducted against deceased parties on a Lady Bird Deed-protected property; a ghost hearing confirmed by a court reporter's stenographer certificate; and unauthorized judicial reassignments executed without court orders. FOIA denials were later contradicted by records that only emerged after a state lawsuit was filed.
Despite these documented irregularities, a Michigan's Court of Appeals ruling now places me in danger of losing my home. I have filed complaints with the DOJ, the FBI, the Judicial Tenure Commission, and a federal civil rights case in the Eastern District Court of Michigan. These are not allegations — they are evidentiary facts in active federal and state court proceedings.
I share this not for sympathy. I share this because you deserve to understand what whistleblowing actually costs. And to seek legal counsel.
Furthermore, I share this because the pressure created the vision.
For years I brought reparations to every level of Democratic governance — federal, state, municipal. I brought a petition with more than 3,000 signatures. I brought a UN black genocide complaint. I brought a tax-free reparations policy framework connecting NASA asteroid mining revenue to RUBI, reparations for African Americans and universal basic income for workers displaced by technology — specifically the autoworkers of Michigan whose livelihoods were taken by robotics. Biden didn't act. Whitmer didn't act. Duggan didn't act.
We have been told to wait. We have been told to wait by mayors, governors, and presidents. We have learned what Dr. King knew in Birmingham — that "wait" has almost always meant "never." We are not waiting.
This work was sparked in part by a conversation with a 33rd degree Mason who was running for office. I asked him to use the reparations issue to win black voters. He told he would rather wait until he got into that office. He didn't win. I couldn't wait. His descendants — like all of our descendants — deserve what the waiting never delivered.
So we stopped waiting.
The Global Reparations DAO exists because begging the powerful for justice is a strategy with a documented failure rate. The Founding Covenant — minted as a 1-of-1 NFT — establishes RUBI, Reparations and Universal Basic Income, as a proposed asset-backed digital currency currently in development, with two streams: reparations for Afrodescendants in the diaspora and universal basic income for Africans on the continent. RUBI is not yet a functioning instrument — founding DAO members are not passengers on a completed vessel, but crew members building one for a journey that cannot wait.
The timing is not accidental.
The GENIUS Act is now law, establishing the first federal framework for stablecoins in American history. The CLARITY Act is moving through Congress, creating regulatory definition for digital assets broadly. For years, blockchain reparations existed in a legal gray zone. That zone is closing — and closing in a direction that makes RUBI more legally actionable than it has ever been.
What was visionary in 2020 is becoming infrastructure in 2026.

While litigation continues here in Detroit, I am also planning to take the Global Reparations DAO to the African continent. The Dangote Refinery IPO — potentially the largest in African capital market history — opens for subscription in August 2026. Before any DAO treasury decision is made to invest, we intend to see Nigeria firsthand. To meet partners on the ground. To understand what the continental stream of RUBI looks like from the continent itself.
This work has always been transatlantic. The Middle Passage went one direction. We are building the infrastructure to move resources in the other direction.
